Movement for Black Lives
The Movement for Black Lives (M4BL) is a collective program working towards mobilizing and reaching legislature, national, and local agendas to impact the lives of millions. Focused on its 5 core pillars, this alliance for justice is truly making change happen.
Ali Forney Center
The Ali Forney Center works to support homeless LGBTQ youth by providing housing, first response attention, healthcare, and insurance. They are continuing support regardless of COVID-19 risk at the moment, and could use help towards proper PPE and resources.
Know Your Rights Camp
The Know Your Rights Camp’s mission is to advance the liberation and well-being of Black communities through education, creation of new systems, raising up new leaders, and promoting self-empowerment for the black youth of America.
BLM Seattle-King County
This is our local Seattle chapter of the official BLM, a grassroots, volunteer-based social justice nonprofit focused on liberation and empowerment of Blacks and other people of color. The organization focuses on advocacy, direct action, and dismantling the racist systems and policies of oppression that have been long withstanding in America.
Loveland Therapy Fund
This foundation provides Black women and children with access Black-centered therapy services for free, as sessions are typically expensive with a vast majority of therapists being white. They also offer access to Queer and Trans therapists of color and “phone therapy” providers, to make therapy inclusive, accessible, and affordable.
UNCF
UNCF raises money to award scholarships, and has helped to more than double the rate of minorities attending college. As we have been incredibly privileged to attend university ourselves, we believe an essential change for America's racial disparities begins with contributing to promote accessibility for the Black community to do so as well.
Northwest Community Bail Fund
Seattle-based NW Community Bail Fund offers relief for protestors and is working to stop the spread of COVID-19 through minimizing overcrowding in jails. In addition, this group is advocating for continued decarceration in King County through this time, and supporting protestors unable to pay bail.
Campaign Zero
Campaign Zero is working to end police violence in America through limiting police intervention, improving community interactions, and ensuring accountability through clear steps (check out their website for more). In addition, CZ is advocating for deliberate policy changes and immediate action of policy makers to end violence and racial discrimination.
Black Visions Collective
Black Visions Collective is an organization dedicated to Black liberation led by members of the Black, Trans, and Queer communities. Since 2017, they have been focused on dismantling systems of environmental injustice and violence, and making safety-related advancements in communities that do not involve the police.
