Falafel King

1509 1st Ave

If you're a fan of Aladdin Gyro-Cery on The Ave, check out Falafel King, which has some similar plates on their menu. Located right by Pike Place Market, this place offers everything from shawarmas to salads and more. We suggest you to bring some of your friends, as they often have large portion sizes.

Cafe Selam

2715 E Cherry St

An 8 minute drive from UW, this highly regarded Ethiopian restaurant and cafe offers many breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. Cafe Selam offers the option of takeout, and prices range from $2 tea and coffee, to the highest price of $18 for a meat combination platter.

Central Cafe & Juice Bar

For the eco-conscious avid juicer, the pastry lover or the coffee addict, Central Cafe has something for everyone. Located a quick 15 minute bus from campus, this five-star cafe has mouth watering desserts and smoothies and is located in a beautiful historic building. 

Conscious Eatery

5620 6th Ave S

While this place is a little further from campus, their raving reviews, healthy and local-sourced menu and buy one give one meal system show how much this business gives back. They sell breakfast and lunch, with a menu featuring 21 artisan sandwiches, and many soups, salads and breakfast yums, there's something for everyone!

Ezell's Famous Chicken

2300 N 45th St

Located two blocks up from Dick’s on 45th, Ezell’s Famous Chicken is equally as much of a cult-classic, offering fresh large portion-size chicken with baked rolls, homemade tenders and drool worthy size dishes (anyone else miss GOOD mashed potatoes? No? Just us?). Also they have desserts. That’s all.

If authentic Caribbean is your thing, this relaxed, highly praised, restaurant 5 minutes from campus is for you. If you don’t know if you like Caribbean food, you’ll regret not trying the exquisite dishes, and learning more about the history behind them as well. Win win! Check out the online menu for more.

Simply Soulful

Located just beyond the UW Arboretum, Simply Soulful is a “cheerful nook” for soul food. The cafe offers a variety of sweets and main dishes, all prepared using family recipes, local organic ingredients and a whole lot of southern charm!

Plum Bistro

Located in Cap Hill, this vegan restaurant recognized by the NY Times caters to many different tastes, from their bistro to their Sugar Pantry full of sweet treats Plum Bistro will satisfy people with diet restrictions, healthy food preferences and vegans alike!

Nestled near Green Lake, Mojito has been a crowd pleaser for almost two decades. The Latin American restaurant offers well priced, well received authentic dishes, cooked fresh with organically sourced vegetables and meats (and if you’re of age, excellent cocktails).
